CHOOSING YOUR GRADE

We're all different with different levels of fitness, cycling experience and reasons for signing up to a trip. For some the physical challenge is primary, whilst for others it just one aspect that has attracted them to the tours. These cycling grades are designed to help you find the perfect tour for your level of fitness and experience, getting the most out of your trip.

Making the grade
How we rate our rides

There are a few things we consider when grading our routes. These are primarily

  • Distance covered

The grades

GRADE 1

For those unused to cycling or just getting into the sport. Grade 1 tours are very relaxed, covering around 20-40 miles or 30-60km a day. Well suited to beginners, or those getting back into cycling after time out.

You are…

Looking to get into cycling but you wouldn’t call yourself a ‘cyclist’. Perhaps you used to ride when you were younger but have fallen out of the habit and are looking for quite, beautiful, well tarmacked roads and a supportive crew to help you get back on the road. We’d recommend a grade 1 cycle.
